Glad you asked! Before we get into the nitty gritty let me introduce myself. My name is Adam Lambert (you can call me Lambo), I am a Professional Snowboarder from the frigid mountains of the Australian Alps. I have been competing on the FIS Snowboard World Cup for 3 years now, I have competed in 2 World Championships, 1 Olympic Games and was ranked 9th in the world at the completion of the 2018/19 Winter Season.
Why on Earth is a Snowboarder Blogging I Hear you Ask? Well Let me break it down.
2020 hasnt been the best year for me so far. The end of 2019 saw me taking a big hit to my career with a serious ACL rupture in the second race of the world cup season. So to help stop the inevitable cabin fever I will be experiencing during the next 6 months of surgery, physiotherapy, rehab and all the fun and games that comes along for the ride.
What to expect?
- A day in the life of a recovering athlete.
- The process, what it takes to recover from an injury to return to professional sport.
- The effects on the body, as well as the mind.
- The how to of coming back from injuries based on my experiences as an athlete.
If you’re thinking this will be a well thought out informative and efficient blog, you’re right, kinda. I am no professional writer, I nearly failed year 12 Standard English, but what I do know is my body, I know what it is going to take to get back to the top, and I want to share that story with you.
So buckle in, put on your reading glasses and subscribe to the email notifications to make me feel good about myself. Welcome to my 2020, already not how I planned it to go but I’m damn sure I will be giving 110%.
